Good day everyone. I am Alberto Rodriguez and I currently serve as a Deputy Constable for Pct 1. I am seeking a position on the Board of Directors as I would like to serve on the BargainingTeam. As some may know, I retired from the Austin Police Department this past March after 23 years with the city. I was also a member of APA union for all of my career. I spent most of my time on patrol.  My first 10 yrs. as a patrol officer working Edward Sector (35/Rundberg Ln) before promoting to Corporal (still on patrol), transferred to the auto theft unit in 2012. I transferred back to patrol in 2015 as a Corporal and then to the DWI unit in 2019 as their corporal. I promoted to Sgt in 2020 and remained on patrol till I retired. I was a Patrol Supervisor for Region 4 David 100s; Southwest Area Command.

I want the best for all deputies in county. I would like to see Hays County first on benefits and pay. The county has one of the fastest growing counties in the state and in my opinion, it is behind the times on how things are done by at least 10-15 years. I know, the county way works slow. But that’s why change is needed. The contract will give us an opportunity to make some changes (address some civil service rules). But it will take all of us. If you hear things can’t be done or they will never accept what is being offered then we have already lost. So, let’s make that change together!
